At Hoop House, Tana, Cherith, and Kasey are more than just colleagues – they're kindred spirits on a shared journey of nurturing life in all its forms. From tending to plants to providing a loving haven for foster cats, their mission is a shared one.

Meet Tana Smith

Hoop House Founder

Tana made Nashville her home during her time attending Belmont University. With a background as a jeweler for Judith Bright, Tana wanted to create a space where people could come together to find fine, handmade pieces to decorate their own spaces and design their perfect homes. Tana’s journey led her to the creation of Hoop House, a convergence of her passions - community, craftsmanship, plants, animals, and people.

If Tana is not at Hoop House, she enjoys spending time gardening, hanging with her animals, supporting her talented friends, and traveling to Kentucky to visit family. Her favorite plant is the String of Turtles.

Whether you stop in to shop her curated selection of plants, peruse essential home goods, or just say hi, Tana can’t wait to meet you!

Meet The Team

  • Meet Cherith Boda

Cherith is a plant and animal enthusiast who moved to Nashville from Colorado in 2018. Her plants and skin appreciate the Tennessee humidity. Growing up as an artist with a love for beauty and nature, she has always taken an interest in houseplants, but her passion grew after starting her journey with Hoop House two years ago.

In Cherith’s free time she enjoys spending time with her five cats, watching anime, attending concerts, and sipping a Tecate with friends at her neighborhood bar. Her favorite plant is the Maranta Red.

  • Meet Kasey Prater

Since making Nashville her home 2014, she has been on a adventure of self-discovery and creativity. It was during that time she starting working with Tana making jewelry for a local jewelry artisan. What began as a professional collaboration quickly blossomed into a bond of friendship and camaraderie, a partnership that now thrives at Hoop House.

In her spare time, Kasey finds joy in the company of her partner and their four animals. She’s an avid fiction reader and fan of horror films. One of her favorite plants is the Philodendron Silver Sword because it’s shiny.
